In the wake of a massive peanut butter recall that saw hundreds get sickened, Trader Joe’s has now announced the recall of nearly 5,000 pounds of their product, “Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice.”
The recall is occurring after the producer behind Trader Joe’s product, Aliya Foods, discovered that 4,865 pounds of its chicken may be contaminated with Listeria.
According to reports, the chicken was imported from Canada and distributed to Trader Joe’s stores in 14 states along the East Coast and the District of Columbia.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food and Safety Inspection Service is urging Trader Joe’s customers not to eat any of the chicken they have already purchased because of the food poisoning injury risk.
