A three-wheel diesel motorcycle was illegally carrying at least twenty-two passengers when it crashed off the road in southeast China. The motorcycle accident occurred when the tricycle veered off a stone bridge and plunged into a rocky valley.
The tricycle is usually used as a farm vehicle in China. In fact, Chinese law forbids the motor vehicle to be used as a passenger vehicle. However, the overloading of vehicles is common in rural areas in China, where people have no other way to travel.
Fourteen people were confirmed dead at the scene of the tragic motor vehicle accident. Eight others are currently in-patients at a local hospital being treated for their personal injuries, some in critical condition.
