Two Motorcyclists Hospitalized After Car Accident And Driver Later Dies From His Injuries.

Motorcycles can be a lot of fun when the proper safety precautions are taken and followed. When they are not followed, riding a motorcycle can become extremely dangerous and result in injury or death. Even if all precautions are followed, there is still a high risk of a negligent driver not seeing you and entering your lane causing you to crash. If you are involved in an accident while riding a motorcycle, the expert motorcycle accident attorneys at our Boston, Massachusetts law firm have decades of experience recovering damages for our Massachusetts clients and can help you with the complicated litigation process.

Two people were critically injured Wednesday night near the intersection of Wasatch Boulevard and Little Cottonwood Canyon Road in Sandy, Utah. Reportedly, a Honda Civic turned in front of a motorcycle, onto Wasatch Boulevard and the two collided, each carrying a man and a woman. Both the man, 46 years-old, and his adult woman passenger on the motorcycle, were critically injured and taken to a hospital. The woman who was injured was given medical care at the scene for around 20 to 25 minutes before she was taken to a hospital.

Investigators said drugs and alcohol didn’t appear to be involved. It appears the motorcycle had the right of way, but police are still investigating speeds and other factors involved to determine exactly what happened. The driver of the motorcycle passed away Thursday, while the passenger on the motorcycle has been upgraded to stable condition.

Target Pays Over Two Million Dollars To Woman Who Slipped And Fell In Store.

Generally, corporations have to maintain their stores and exercise a reasonable standard of care and protect their customers, especially during peak business hours and in heavy foot traffic sections. If a store fails to do this and a customer is injured due to their negligence, they will be liable for any and all damages that result. Although a victim may be left with a feeling of confusion as to what to do next in such a case, and filing a personal injury lawsuit against a large corporation might seem daunting, our expert slip and fall lawyers and team of personal injury attorneys here at our Boston, Massachusetts law firm will be able to help guide you through the litigation process.

An Allegheny County, Pennsylvania jury has awarded $2.1 million to a woman who tore her hamstring after slipping on a wet floor at a Target store. After three-and-a-half days of trial, and one day of deliberation, before Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Della Vecchia, the jury handed up its award to plaintiff Melissa Horton. The verdict was divided into $1.4 million for past noneconomic damages and $700,000 in future noneconomic damages.

At the time Horton entered the store, a soda bottle reportedly fell from a shelf and spilled onto the main aisle in the store. Target employees eventually began mopping the area with “a wet soapy substance” and placed warning cones around the area. Ms. Horton alleged in court papers that Target employees carelessly mopped the floor outside of the cordoned-off area. Ms. Horton says that she walked cautiously around the spill area, but once outside it, slipped on “the invisible wet floor,” causing her to drop into a split and tear her hamstring.

Family Of 14 Year-Old Is Suing Their School District For Negligence In Connection With Their Daughter’s Death While At School.

One of the more difficult aspects of filing a wrongful death lawsuit is proving that your loved one died as the result of the negligence of another person. However, the wrongful death attorneys here at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. Hoy, Jr. and Affiliates have decades of experience and can help guide you through the complicated process inherent in any wrongful death case. If you can prove the death was because of another person’s negligence, you may be able to recover substantial money damages against the accused perpetrator.

The family of a 14 year-old student who died inside Gaithersburg High School in 2015 is suing the Montgomery County, Alabama school district for $10 million. Taylor Walton’s mother said her daughter died of an asthma attack during a gym class. Allegedly, the school staff, including the gym teacher, failed to properly respond to the girl’s breathing complaints and symptoms. According to the complaint, school officials knew Taylor Walton suffered from asthma and were required to distribute an “emergency treatment plan” to her teachers, including her physical education instructor.

Ms. Walton suffered her asthma attack on Nov. 30, 2015. Her gym teacher allegedly twice denied her request to leave class and obtain her inhaler. The third time, she approached the John Doe Gym Teacher and stated that she was still having severe problems breathing and that she was leaving class to get her inhaler. As Taylor was observed leaving the gymnasium, there were no efforts by the gym teacher or other members of the gym staff to accompany her to her locker to help her get her inhaler or to secure her safety. She was later found lying on the ground near her locker by another teacher.
