15-Foot Fence In New York City Falls And Causes Injuries To Passersby.

Strong winds in NYC caused a temporary plywood wall in front of a sushi restaurant to fall on December 2, 2013, causing injuries to several people.

Due to high winds in New York City, a plywood wall was blown down onto two women and one man.  All three were injured and taken to a local hospital.  Luckily, none of their injuries were life-threatening.

The construction company that erected the wall, Einstein Construction, has now been issued a violation order and ordered to leave the construction site in front of the sushi restaurant.

Collision Results in Bicyclist’s Death in Newport Beach, California.

The victim was riding his bicycle when a passenger vehicle making a turn on a main road struck him. This is the second fatal bicycle accident this year in Newport Beach, California.

The bike crash occurred at around 7:40 p.m. in the town of Newport Beach, California. Local law enforcement authorities say that paramedics pronounced a 41 year-old Irvine resident, Paul Lin, dead at the scene of the bicycle accident. Newport Beach Police are asking the community to come forward with any information they may have regarding the fatal bike accident.

The first of the two lethal bicycle accidents this year took the life of a 58 year-old woman. A white minivan and the cyclist collided on East Coast Highway.

Newport Beach city officials are working on implementing a Bicycle Master Plan to improve bicycle safety in the city. Until such a plan takes effect, more bicyclists are in danger of becoming victims of fatal car accidents.

The states on the eastern seaboard of the United States are preparing for the first winter storm of this winter season.

The winter storm is predicted to take place on Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day, which is consistently one of the busiest travel days of the year.  The snowstorm began its path of destruction over the weekend in western United States, particularly in Texas. The storm covered the city of Dallas with sleet and freezing rain, resulting in at least eight deaths and causing over 300 flights to be cancelled at the Dallas International Airport. The eight individuals died in traffic motor vehicle accidents resulting from slick road conditions.

Several states in the Midwest are expecting snowy and icy precipitation. Several towns in Oklahoma are anticipating having to clean up half a foot of snow by mid-Tuesday, November 26. Warm weather is expected to return only gradually following this winter storm.
