According to Arlington, MA Town Manager, Adam Chapdelaine, a work group is being assembled whose purpose will be to examine how Arlington’s public employees’ salaries compare with “counterparts in similar communities.” Chapdelaine says that the group, which includes municipal officials and union representatives, is in the process of drafting a request for proposals from consultants to perform the study. The study is expected to cost the town approximately $25,000, and it is anticipated that it will be completed by the year 2014.
