{"id":371,"date":"2012-10-12T16:17:20","date_gmt":"2012-10-12T16:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gilhoylaw.com\/blog\/?p=371"},"modified":"2012-10-14T18:19:29","modified_gmt":"2012-10-14T18:19:29","slug":"three-workers-dead-after-miami-dade-fl-college-parking-garage-collapse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gilhoylaw.com\/blog\/three-workers-dead-after-miami-dade-fl-college-parking-garage-collapse\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Workers Dead After Miami-Dade, FL College Parking Garage Collapse."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Three construction workers have died, one remains missing, and another is in critical condition after a portion of the five-story parking garage being constructed for Miami-Dade College in Doral, Florida collapsed last Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9rCGPC6ML3w\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The construction workers were working on the parking garage, which was nearing completion, when a portion of the garage collapsed in what authorities are calling a \u201cpancake-style collapse.\u201d An eyewitness reported seeing the garage fold onto itself like a \u201chouse of cards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The rubble from the collapse buried a crane, a heavy truck and several workers in a pile of rubble that reached as high as 20 feet. Eight injured workers were rushed to nearby hospital emergency rooms. Two were pronounced dead on arrival.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another worker removed from the rubble during the rescue operation had to have both legs amputated in order to be freed.
