\"Boston,<\/a>Officials for the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently seized ultrasound gel from a New Jersey company, Pharmaceutical Innovations.<\/strong> According to FDA officials, the gel tested positive for bacterial contamination, and at least 16 women were apparently infected by the gel at one hospital. All of the gel that was manufactured between June and December of 2011 was seized by FDA officials, and the contaminated gel has lot numbers 060111, 090111 and 120111. All of the doctors who treated patients with these lot numbers are urged to contact and examine the women involved for possible infections.<\/p>\n
